Scope
The Studio’s services are for professionals only: production companies, broadcasters, platforms, distributors, brands, and writers and creators acting in the course of their professional activity (the “Client”). By placing an order, the Client confirms it is acting for professional purposes.
Any order implies acceptance of these Terms, which prevail over the Client’s purchasing terms unless otherwise agreed in writing. The quote and, where applicable, the production agreement signed by the parties supplement them; in case of conflict, the quote and the agreement prevail.
Services
- The first answer: free and without commitment, within 48 business hours of receiving the synopsis: the Studio says whether it can make the project and in what price range.
- The Dossier: the project’s production dossier, in A4 format, and a short presentation of about ten slides, with the firm quote for the production. Delivered within five business days of receipt of the full script and payment.
- Productions: The Scout (a financing trailer of about 1 min 30), The Sequence (a short film or series pilot of about 26 minutes), The Heist (a feature film of about 90 minutes), The Crew (a series season), or any other format, priced in the quote according to the per-minute price grid published on the site.
- The co-production option: the Studio lowers the price in exchange for a share of the film’s revenue, under a specific agreement signed before production starts.
Orders
The Dossier is ordered through the site’s form or by email. The order is firm once the Studio’s written confirmation and the payment are received.
Productions are ordered on the basis of the firm quote delivered with the Dossier. The order is firm once the Client signs the quote, marked “approved”, and pays the first instalment. Unless stated otherwise, a quote is valid for three months.
Prices
Prices are in euros excluding VAT; VAT is added at the applicable rate. Prices and examples shown on the site are indicative: only the quote binds the parties.
The quoted price is firm and fixed for the scope it describes (running time, formats, deliverables, languages, number of feedback rounds). No extra fee is charged within that scope. Any request from the Client outside it (script changed after approval, longer running time, extra deliverable, feedback beyond what is provided for) is covered by a priced amendment, approved in writing before the work is done.
The Dossier costs €990 excl. VAT for a project of up to 10 minutes, €1,990 excl. VAT for a project of up to 52 minutes, and €3,900 excl. VAT for a longer project or a season of a series. Its price is fully deducted from the invoice for the Scout or the production if the Client orders them within three months of the Dossier’s delivery, or within six months for a project longer than 52 minutes or a season.
Payment
- The Dossier is payable in full with the order.
- Productions are payable according to the schedule in the quote: a deposit on signature, then a payment at each approved stage.
Invoices are payable by bank transfer within thirty days of their issue date. No discount is given for early payment.
Any late payment automatically incurs, without notice, interest at the rate applied by the European Central Bank to its most recent refinancing operation plus ten percentage points, and a fixed recovery fee of €40 (Articles L441-10 and D441-5 of the French Commercial Code). If recovery costs are higher, further compensation may be claimed on proof.
If an invoice remains unpaid, the Studio may suspend work after a formal notice left unanswered for eight days; deadlines are then extended accordingly.
Stages, approvals and feedback
Production moves forward in stages, defined in the quote: the budget, then the characters, sets and style, the animatic, the pilot scene, production, editing and delivery. Each stage is presented to the Client, who approves it in writing (an email is enough). The next stage only starts after that approval.
One round of feedback is included at each stage. Feedback relates to the stage presented and does not reopen stages already approved.
If the Client does not reply within ten business days of a stage being presented, the Studio sends a reminder; with no reply five business days after that reminder, the stage is deemed approved.
The delivered film conforms to the approved stages. Delivery counts as acceptance, unless the Client raises a reasoned objection within ten business days concerning a departure from the approved stages or a technical defect, which the Studio fixes free of charge.
Deadlines
Timeframes given on the site are indicative; the applicable deadlines are those in the quote. They run from receipt of payment and of the necessary materials, and are extended by the time taken by the Client’s approvals and feedback. Unless the quote says otherwise, a delay cannot lead to cancellation of the order or to penalties.
Client’s commitments
- Provide the necessary materials on time and appoint a contact authorised to approve each stage.
- Warrant that it holds all rights in the script and in the materials it provides (text, characters, music, trademarks, images, voices, likeness of real persons), and hold the Studio harmless against any third-party claim in that respect.
- Not request any unlawful or defamatory content, or content infringing privacy or third-party rights. The Studio may refuse any content contrary to the law.
Artificial intelligence
The Client is informed that the Studio makes its works with generative artificial intelligence tools, which it chooses for each shot, under the control of its producers.
The face or voice of a real person is only used with that person’s written consent; when a project uses the voice or face of an actor, that actor is hired and paid.
When distributing the works, the Client complies with the transparency obligations that apply to AI-generated content, in particular Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689. On request, the Studio tells the Client which elements were generated.
Under current law, copyright protection of elements produced by artificial intelligence without sufficient human creative input is not guaranteed. The Studio assigns to the Client all the rights it holds in the film, under the terms of the following section.
Intellectual property
Subject to full payment of the price, the Studio assigns to the Client, on delivery and on an exclusive basis, the economic rights it holds in the delivered film: rights of reproduction, performance, adaptation, translation, dubbing and subtitling, on all media and by all means of exploitation (cinema, television, platforms, internet, social media, video), worldwide and for the full term of protection. The price of this assignment is included in the price of the service.
Characters, sets and images created specifically for the film are assigned with it: the Studio does not reuse them for any other project. AI models trained on those characters or sets are used only for the Client’s film.
The Studio retains ownership of its methods, software, tools, templates and know-how, and of pre-existing generic elements; it grants the Client the right to use those included in the film for its exploitation.
The Client may freely use the Dossier and the presentation to present and finance its project. If the project stops, the Client keeps the rights in the deliverables of approved and paid stages, for example the trailer from the Scout.
Unless the Client objects in writing or a non-disclosure agreement provides otherwise, the Studio may mention the project and show excerpts as a reference after its first public release.
Confidentiality
The Studio keeps the Client’s script and information confidential. Only the Studio’s producers have access to them, along with the tools and providers needed for production, who are bound by the same confidentiality. At the Client’s request, the Studio signs a non-disclosure agreement before reading the script. This obligation lasts for the whole relationship and five years after it, except for information that has become public through no fault of the Studio.
Co-production
The co-production option is governed by a specific agreement signed before production starts, which sets in particular the price reduction, the Studio’s share of revenue and the terms for selling the film. These Terms apply to anything that agreement does not cover.
Stopping the project and termination
The Client may stop the project at the end of any stage. The price of approved stages and of the stage in progress, pro rata to the work done, remains payable.
In the event of a serious breach by either party, not remedied fifteen days after formal notice, the other party may terminate the order as of right, by registered letter or by email with acknowledgement of receipt.
Liability
The Studio undertakes to deliver a film that conforms to the approved stages. Its liability is limited to direct damage and capped at the amount, excluding VAT, paid by the Client for the order concerned. The Studio is not liable for decisions by third parties (platforms, broadcasters, distributors, festivals), including a refusal, removal or demonetisation, nor for materials provided by the Client.
Force majeure
Neither party is liable for a failure caused by force majeure within the meaning of Article 1218 of the French Civil Code. Obligations are suspended for its duration; if it lasts more than sixty days, either party may terminate the order, with the stages already completed remaining payable.
Personal data
How the Client’s personal data is handled is set out in the privacy policy.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties first seek an amicable solution for thirty days. Failing that, the dispute is brought before the commercial court with jurisdiction over the Studio’s registered office.
